Something ancient has awakened beneath the world.

Corruption spreads through forest, fungus and hive, twisting nature into an army. Build your deck, evolve your cards, adapt your strategy, and fight your way toward The Father Below before he finds a way to rise.

Evoruption is a single-player 2D deckbuilding roguelike made in Python and Pygame.

Three ways to play

Story Mode

Progress through story areas filled with corrupted creatures, challenging bosses, and powerful superbosses.

Defeating enemies unlocks new cards and expands your collection. Boss victories let you evolve or duplicate cards, allowing you to build stronger and more specialised decks as the story continues.

Duel Mode

Challenge a growing cast of opponents who fight using their own decks, cards, strategies, and personalities.

Each Duel opponent has a unique deck, AI behaviour, dialogue, and difficulty level. Defeat them to unlock new opponents and earn special rewards.

Multiplayer

1 vs 1 or the unique(?) 2 vs 2 multiplayer mode for LAN is now available to try.

About the project

I started learning Python at 56 because I wanted to build something real instead of only following tutorials.

What began as a learning project gradually became a complete playable game with multiple Stories, card classes, bosses, progression systems, and a separate Duel Mode.

The core systems are implemented and working, and the available Stories can be played from start to finish. Balance, polish, and content will continue to improve throughout Early Access.

Feedback

Honest feedback is extremely valuable.

I would especially like to know:

  • Is the deckbuilding fun?
  • Are cards, effects, and enemy intents understandable?
  • Does the difficulty feel fair?
  • Do rewards and upgrades feel meaningful?
  • Are the Duel opponents fun to fight?
  • What feels confusing, frustrating, or unfinished?

Thanks for playing!
